“Our room wasn’t ready on check in as they had an issue with previous guest. Moved us to a different room for one night, as we walk in we realise there isn’t enough beds so wasn’t suitable. They moved us again and then said we would have to move the next day. Said I wasn’t keen to move 3 times so we stayed in the second room. Room was tidy but I feel needs some improvements. When locking the door it only locks from the outside so I didn’t feel that was safe with children. Blinds didn’t work, lots...

“Great property. Excellent service. Rey nice rooms and great location.”

“I stayed two nights before and after a Taupo trip. The first night in a one bedroom room was nice but severely ripped wallpaper in the bedroom and a hole in the wall. The second night was in room 5, a one bedroom. Ripped wallpaper and marks on the wall, something stuck to the carpet, broken blind pull chain. But worst of all, in the bedroom there is a vent in the ceiling (perhaps to provide access to water pipes above?) You can see water stains in a line across the ceiling. But when someone went...

“Owner Gordon was delightful and informative. Loved having a room that you can open the windows for fresh air. The room was very clean. No complaints at all and very centrally located. Thanks Gordon. Joyce & David Melbourne”

“Quiet, lovely, in the heart of the city. Could see both Woolies from the balcony. A rare Napier treat.”

“Negatives. Property is very very tired. Gardens need a good tidy up and outdoor furniture a paint. The spa bath in our room was broken. And bathroom ceiling a few large patches of black mould with holes in vinyl floor. Where light fixtures had been replaced in bedrooms the wall was a different colour and previous screw holes visible. Fridge extremely noisy. All things I wouldn’t expect from a 4.5star rated motel. All easily fixed. Positives: Staff were very friendly, linen nice and...

“This is a well located location with lovely views to the sea from the balcony. It is spacious and comfortable. Would stay there again.”

“Clean and tidy staff were fantastic nice view of beach”

“Great location, walking distance to shops, restaurants and boardwalk.”

“Clean room. The property is showing its age but well-maintained still.”

“Website advertised reception open til 7pm, which I liked as I made decision to stop driving to rest on road trip. Reception wasn’t open when arrived at 5.45pm. Called phone no. listed on the entry door. They made plans to collect key at another hotel 3min drive away so that was ok. As it was a last minute decision to stay night as I had been driving all day, I was really disappointed there were no bathrobes as advertised, I had no jarmies or clothes and chose the Hotel over others as it stated...
